Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) was formed as a result of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1972. BSNC became the regional Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) for the Bering Strait region, which encompasses the majority of the Seward Peninsula and the coastal lands of eastern Norton Sound. Certified in 2004 as a Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO), the Alaka`ina Foundation entered federal contracting in 2004 and established none (a) for profit firms that were wholly acquired in June 2026. These firms, Ke'aki Technologies, Lualima Government Solutions, Kupono Government Services, Kapili Services, Po'okela Solutions, Kikaha Solutions, Pololei Solutions, Alaka'ina Professional Services, and Alaka'ina Technical Services operate today as Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings.
Our mix of capabilities and procurement advantage present a strong tool set to the Federal acquisition community. These features create a total solutions package that is compelling and can support a variety of acquisition strategies. "Bering" stems from the Bering Straits region in Alaska which spans most of Alaska’s Seward Peninsula and the coastal lands of eastern Norton Sound. Alaka'ina is a Hawaiian word meaning leadership. By selecting a name reflective of our Alaskan region and our Hawaiian legacy, we celebrate the incredibly rich history and respective cultures of
our organization.
